If you spend at least half as much time online every day as we do, we’re sure you’ve found plenty of great deals to make money online. “My cousin works from home and makes $1,234 every Tuesday…” – sounds familiar? It’s hard to find a comment section these days that isn’t littered with posts like these.
Most money-making opportunities are presented to you with online spam right from the start. They promise little or no work and massive gains. However, we all understand that we would all already be billionaires if it were possible to do so overnight!
Nevertheless, you shouldn’t think that there is no legitimate way to earn money online in your spare time. Although the earnings may be modest, you can surely earn a dollar or ten effortlessly while browsing the web – and in this review, we’ll feature a passive income opportunity like that.
Honeygain: what is it and how does it work?
The app we’re trying out this time is called honey gain. Introduced in 2019, it’s by no means a newbie to the market – in fact, it’s known as one of the first internet sharing apps ever launched.
The main idea of Honeygain is quite simple: by running the app on your device, you share some of your unused internet bandwidth. Your payment is based on how much traffic you share (or, if you’re using the streaming feature, how long your device is in active mode – we’ll talk about that later!), and you can use the both Wi-Fi and mobile data.
While the competition has certainly grown in recent years, Honeygain not only remains the biggest player in the arena, but also the one with the most accessibility options. As of 2022, it’s available on Windows, macOS, Android, iOS, and even Linux (via Docker). This means you can generate passive income on your computer, tablet or smartphone – or even all three.
Each Honeygain account can have up to 10 devices sharing their bandwidth simultaneously, as long as each is connected to a different network and uses a different IP address. You can have more devices connected if you need – it’s just that no more than 10 can be actively shared at the same time.
How much can you earn exactly?
When you share your internet bandwidth with Honeygain, you get 3,000 Honeygain credits for every 10GB. 3,000 credits translates to $3 – so it’s clearly not about to pave your way to a life of a millionaire at Bahamas. However, it’s a bargain considering how little you need to get it!
If you’re using a desktop device (read: computer) and live in one of the 41 countries where the Content Casting (CD) feature is currently available, you can activate it and get 6 extra credits per hour for which your device is in active mode. . Other ways to earn extra cash include using Honeygain’s generous referral program and earning free credits in the in-app lottery called Lucky Pot or regular contests on Honeygain’s social media pages.
Trying the app ourselves, we managed to earn $14.22 in two weeks with a few Android devices. This includes a $5 sign-up bonus that we collected using coupon code GET5, currently offered to website visitors and displayed in a colorful pop-up window. Not too shabby to run the app in the background on your device and not even actively use it! The money you earn can be collected through PayPal (USD) or your crypto wallet ($JMPT).
Could he be more passive?
Once you sign up with Honeygain, download and install the app, you can just let it run. That’s it – you don’t have to watch ads, take surveys or do anything else to generate passive income! As mentioned above, you can play the daily lottery within the app or invite your friends and family to join you so you can enjoy the referee benefits – however, these are optional, so you can do without it as well if that’s how you like it.
It is important to note that Honeygain is developed to share as much internet bandwidth as possible without affecting your device’s performance or your browsing experience. You can use your computer, tablet, or smartphone as you normally would while the app is running and earn passive income out of sight.
The only exception is Honeygain iOS: since iOS doesn’t allow background activity for most types of apps, you’ll have to leave the app running on the screen. Luckily, you can activate a power saving mode and dim your screen, which makes the app perfect for running at night.
Making money with Honeygain is definitely not a scam: we tried it and we can attest to that now. Of course, this won’t replace your main source of income, but it’s still a good way to treat yourself to an extra free pizza once in a while!
