WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – The Kansas Humane Society has received an $85,000 grant from Petco Love, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting animal shelters and organizations across the United States. The receipt of the grant was accompanied by a celebration Tuesday at the Petco store at North 29th Street and Rock Road in northeast Wichita. The humane society said the donation would be put to good use.

“That money goes towards the care of the thousands of animals that come through our doors every time. So it helps with things like medical care, food, housing, vaccinations, our low income spay clinics and all sorts of of things that people need to keep pets in their homes and care for them,” said KHS Marketing Director Ericka Goering.

The donation to KHS is part of more than $15 million in investments that Petco Love recently announced to help organizations across the country.
