FULL OWNERSHIP – A Keyport man has been charged with robbery and aggravated sexual assault following an assault and attempted robbery that took place Thursday in Tinton Falls, the Monmouth County Acting District Attorney announced Tuesday, Lori Linskey.
Kareem Lee, 31, has been charged with first-degree robbery, as well as first-degree aggravated sexual assault with a cocked weapon after threatening to steal money from the victim and sexually assaulting the victim, while he was armed with a deadly weapon.
At approximately 2:32 p.m. on Thursday, July 21, officers from the Tinton Falls Police Department were dispatched to a local motel for a sexual assault report. Upon arrival, the victim told officers that she had been sexually assaulted at gunpoint by a man who entered the room.
At that time, an investigation was initiated with the Tinton Falls Police Department and the Monmouth County Attorney’s Office Special Victims Office. During the investigation, the suspect was identified as Lee.
The investigation remains active and ongoing at this time.

Lee is being held at the Monmouth County Correctional Institute (MCCI) pending a July 27, 2022 detention hearing before Monmouth County Superior Court Judge Paul X. Escandon.
